The Bear and Its Long Sleep
In winter, a bear sleeps in its den, a home that looks like a big hole under the snow. It sleeps for several months, as if you went to bed in December and woke up only in March. While asleep, the bear doesn't eat or drink, and its heart beats slower than yours when you rest. In spring it wakes up hungry and goes looking for food.
